Sharp clangs in cooperages, sweet smells of drying grain, haunting bagpipe skirls, and eye-popping scenery are only part of our exclusive Taste of Scotland’s Whisky Trail and Spectacular Scenery tour.
We’ll be touring and tasting single malts at nine distilleries, and enjoying numerous dinners, pairing whisky with food.
We’ll also visit iconic whisky destinations including the Quaich Whisky Bar in the Craigellachie Hotel, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, and the Road Hole Restaurant within the Old Course Hotel at St. Andrews.
Whether awesome or ominous, local Scottish weather conjures up images of the alchemy working its magic just around the next bend in the road.
At Speyside Cooperage we’ll see coopers assembling barrels from a pile of staves, the dramatic flame-charring of barrels, and more. Inside distilleries we will see graceful gleaming copper stills and the spirit safe, where the spirit coming from the stills is analyzed.
No exclusive tour to Scotland would be complete without a visit to the cradle and crown of golf – St. Andrews. We will enjoy a meal (and whisky, of course!) at the Old Course Hotel, just a chip shot from legendary Swilcan Bridge.
Our remarkable tour will culminate with dinner and whisky tasting at the famous Vaults at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The Vaults is located in Leith, one of Edinburgh’s oldest districts. The building dates back to the 1700s and is one of Scotland’s oldest commercial premises. This experience will be the quintessential way to end our whisky tour, and one that you will not soon forget!
Custom Travel Specialist, Scott Ludlum and I know this will be a whisky tour like no other! We have included high-end features all the way for only 15 guests. Departure from Edinburgh will be on September 10, 2017, returning to Edinburgh on September 19, 2017.
